For more than six decades, we've been shaping parking in Frankfurt — reliably, adaptively, and always with an eye on the city of tomorrow.
PBG is Frankfurt’s largest parking operator and a company of ABG FRANKFURT HOLDING. With 32 car parks and around 18,000 parking spaces, we make a vital contribution to inner-city mobility every day. Whether you’re a short-stay parker, commuter, or local resident — we make sure parking in Frankfurt stays easy, safe, and reliable.

Parkhaus-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH (PBG) is a subsidiary of ABG FRANKFURT HOLDING and the largest provider of parking in Frankfurt am Main. Since its founding in 1959, the company has grown into the city’s leading parking operator and today runs 32 large car parks with a total of more than 18,000 spaces across the city. The numbers speak for themselves: each year, around 7 million short-stay parkers and more than 10,000 long-term parkers use PBG’s car parks. This makes the company a key player in inner-city traffic, supporting retail, hospitality, culture, and everyone who enjoys these offerings and brings Frankfurt to life. In addition to its own car parks, PBG operates more than 1,000 parking ticket machines across the city on behalf of the City of Frankfurt am Main.
For more than six decades, we've been shaping parking in Frankfurt — reliably, adaptively, and always with an eye on the city of tomorrow.
As a technology-open company, PBG is committed to delivering modern, future-ready parking solutions. A milestone came in 2020, when PBG became the first parking operator in Hesse to introduce ticketless licence plate recognition. This innovative technology lets drivers park without a physical ticket — entry and exit are fully automated through licence plate recognition. The system is now available across all of PBG’s inner-city car parks. The digital offering goes further still: customers benefit from a wide range of digital payment options, a clear online customer portal for managing long-term parking contracts, and fully digital contract management. Together, these services make parking not just easier, but also more flexible and user-friendly.
Climate protection is playing an ever-greater role in city centres, and PBG sees its parking infrastructure as an active part of this shift. A key first step was a comprehensive lighting upgrade: nearly all of our car parks have been converted to energy-efficient LED technology, significantly reducing energy consumption.
Beyond that, PBG is investing in renewable energy in partnership with Frankfurt’s energy provider Mainova. Wherever it makes structural and practical sense, we use solar power generated on our own roofs. This sustainable energy generation particularly benefits electric vehicle drivers: while parked, EV drivers can charge their vehicles with green electricity at several hundred Mainova AC charging stations.

The PBG team combines experience, service orientation, and deep know-how in operating and maintaining car parks. Building on this expertise, the company offers a complete service package for running large car parks and underground garages with 200 spaces or more in Frankfurt am Main. PBG is open to expanding its portfolio and welcomes new partnerships with property owners and developers.
If you’d like to join the experienced PBG team, you’ll find current job openings and career information on the ABG FRANKFURT HOLDING careers page. The company offers a wide range of entry points in a future-focused working environment.
